Slave Life at Belle Meade Plantation

Tour the mansion and grounds while discovering the different jobs, living conditions, food, clothing, and culture of those held in slavery at Belle Meade Plantation. Using information cards, students read the name and occupation of an enslaved worker, thus bringing life to the workers on the farm. Students participate in the Journey to Freedom game while following a chosen path of the Underground Railroad.
